What are Stainless Steel Pulleys?

Stainless Pulleys are simple tools without any gears or engines, with one or more wheels on which a rope or cable turns, used to support a taut cable in a circular motion along the pulley or to change the direction of movement, to lift loads, apply force and transmit power. Lifting heavy loads with minimal force, is designed to suspend heavy loads to lighten them.

In nautical terms, the combination of wheel, axle and support housing is known as a ''block''.

Pulley blocks can have driving elements such as ropes, cables, and chains that move on the wheel of the pulley. pulleys can be assembled as a block to provide a mechanical advantage to apply force, or as part of a rope or chains drive to transmit power.

The more wheels in the Pulley, the more times the rope is wrapped around it and the more things it can lift.

How to Choose Pulley?

With regard to choosing the size of the pulley, the diameter of the rope determines the size of the pulley that is suitable for the application. For example, a 7x7 cable should use a wheel diameter at least 40 times that of the cable, a 7x19 cable should use a wheel diameter at least 25 times that of the cable, and a 7x49 is recommended to use 15 times that of the cable.

In general, the more flexible the cable, the smaller the recommended wheel diameter to extend the life of the cable.

A smaller pulley will wear out the cable more quickly and a larger pulley may be too large. As the remaining disadvantages of using a pulley larger than the recommended size are mainly a matter of cost, designers should use the largest size pulley appropriate for the particular application.
